 Very unusual weather with a maximum  temperature yesterday of 65 °F and by 0001 of the 3rd we had a trace of snow on the ground. 

It continued snowing until 0605 and the maximum amount on the ground was 1.3 inches and the  temperature never went below freezing.
 
This was the result of a cold frontal passage at 1730 on the the 2nd and  a low pressure formed to the south on the front and moved up the front.

Glen Allen - Springfield Park had a 42 °F temperature range today from the minimum of 28 °F to the maximum  temperature of 70 °F !  

 This was the largest temperature range ever recorded at this station the old record was 37 °F . 

Richmond Airport had 69 °F and the record for this date is 70 °F in 2008 in 2nd place 69 °F in 1925 and 3rd place 68 °F in 1904 and in 4th place 65 °F in 1921.

 The maximum  temperature today was 73.7 °F or the warmest day at Glen Allen - Springfield Park area since November 15, 2008 when it was 76 °F.  

Richmond Airport had 72 °F today and their record for this date is 75 °F in 1925 in 2nd place 73 °F in 1937 and 3rd place 71 °F in 1965.
