This was the worst electrical and hail thunderstorms at Glen Allen - Springfield Park area since the relocation of this station. The maximum wind was 28 mph at 1839 from the west but was recorded at only 15 feet in height. The wind gust that did this damage was obviously stronger but wind speeds can vary greatly over short distances in a storm like this. The total rain in the storm was 2.13 inches. The maximum rain rate was 11.08 inches per hour at 1921 hrs. (The rain lasted less than one minute at this rate recorded on Davis Vantage Pro.)
