 Dec.  1  Trace  Event 1  NO   National Airport reported snow flurries between 2300 and 2330. Annandale Weather Center also had a trace of precipitation from 2310-2315, 2320-2325 and the temperature was 36 °F at 5 feet and 35 °F on the surface of the ground. It is very likely this precipitation was snow flurries here although it wasn't actually observed.
 Dec.  5  4.0  Storm 1  YES   Snow started at 0610 as a fine light snow. The two heavy periods of snow were 1100 to 1145 and 1800 to 1900. The second period was the heaviest with 1.4 inches of large aggregates or fluffy assemblages of many crystals. The total water equivalent was 0.29 or a ratio of 13.8 to 1 a rather dry snow. There was no sleet but some snow pellets occurred during the afternoon.
 Dec.  7  Trace  Event 2  YES   Precipitation started as sleet and then mixed with rain. The rain formed a glaze on bridges and overpasses that caused many traffic accidents. By 1100 the temperature had gone above the freezing mark.
 Jan.  15  Trace  Event 3  No  Snow Flurries from 11:50 AM to 12:05 PM with wind gust to 27 mph but not enough snow to see any accumulation on the ground !
 Jan.  17  3.0  Storm 2  YES  The snow started at 0950 and whitened the ground quickly. The first sleet started mixing in with the snow at 1240. The maximum measured frozen precipitation yesterday was 3.0 inches at 1510 - 1515 and the total liquid equivalent was 0.85 inches.

Then by 1610 the snow and sleet turned to all rain and some melting and much settling of the snow caused accumulation to decrease.
 Jan.  22  Trace  Event 4  No  At 1210 the precipitation started with a light sprinkle. Then around 1230 there was a heavier sprinkle with some sleet mixed in that melted on contact with the ground. But the total precipitation amount for the day was only a trace.
 Feb.  20   0.6   Event 5  YES   A light snow started at 1515 and tapered off at 1700 for about 30-45 minutes then flurries again until 1850.
 Feb.  21-22  Trace  Event 6  YES  The first snow started at 2135 but soon stopped. Then at 2155 there were snow pellets with moderate riming before the precipitation stopped again. The precipitation started again at 0345 as freezing rain with one period of sleet before sunrise but no additional snow occurred.
Total= 7.6 Inches
